Omaha Poker
Rules
Faster is better..is more fun? Some people believe
so and therefore prefer the game of Omaha Poker. A fast poker game
variation of Texas Holdem. How to play Omaha Poker? First the player
left from the dealer places a small bet (small blind) in the pot,
and the player to his left places the big blind in the pot.
The players are dealt 4 cards face down. The first
round of calling, raising or folding starts with the player left of
the big blind.
In the second round of betting, the dealer turns
over 3 cards (flop cards). A player can now choose to check (not to
bet or fold) when there has been no betting in front of him.
The third round of betting. The dealer turns over
the fourth card on the table.
The dealer turns over the last card on the table
in the final round of betting. The player that has the best poker
hand made of 2 of the down cards and 3 of the table cards wins the
pot. Omaha Hi/Lo Poker
This variation is also called Omaha 8 or Better. The difference is
that the pot is split between the high hand and the low hand. The
high hand is obvious the best poker hand. For the low hand the
player needs to qualify first. The poker hand with different
numerical values in his poker hand from Ace (lowest) through 8
qualifies. If 2 or more players qualify for the low hand, the lowest
card wins half of the poker pot. |
